Checkout on Tokoo: Payment Options, Receipts and Coupons Explained

Checkout is where a browsing shopper either becomes a paying customer or abandons the cart — and it's the part of an e-commerce platform that has to work exactly right. Here's exactly how it's built on Tokoo.

A merchant can independently switch on bank transfer, Touch 'n Go eWallet, DuitNow QR and cash on delivery — each toggled separately in settings, so a store can offer exactly the mix its customers actually use, with no gateway account required. The order is logged as "Pending confirmation" the moment it's placed; the customer uploads their payment receipt right in the order page (no receipt needed for COD), and the merchant checks it and confirms. Payment proof stays with the order instead of getting lost in a chat.

From the Starter plan, a store can connect ToyyibPay to accept FPX and card payments with automatic confirmation — no manual bank-transfer screenshots to reconcile. It runs alongside manual methods rather than replacing them, so a shopper still sees whichever options the merchant has enabled.

Coupons support percentage or fixed-amount discounts, a minimum spend threshold, a total redemption cap, and a per-customer usage limit — applied storewide at checkout, and available on every plan including Free.

Merchants can independently enable ship-to-address and self-pickup, with an optional map and opening hours shown for pickup. Customers don't need to register first: they check out with a phone number and email, an account is created for them automatically, and they get an email to view the order and set a password later.
