Connect Google Analytics and Search Console to your store

See your store's visitors, add-to-carts and sales in your own Google Analytics, and which searches bring people in with Search Console — including the one verification step that trips most people up.

Both are free and optional, and both belong to you — Tokoo's own statistics are separate. Once connected, your store reports product views, add-to-cart, checkout starts and purchases to your Google Analytics 4 property automatically.

  1. 1

Create a Google Analytics 4 property

In analytics.google.com go to Admin → Create → Property, then add a Web data stream using your store address (for example yourstore.tokoo.my, or your custom domain). Copy the Measurement ID — it starts with G-.

  2. 2

Paste the Measurement ID into Tokoo

Open Settings → SEO & domain, find Analytics & site verification, paste the G- ID into Google Analytics measurement ID and click Save SEO settings. Visits and shopping events start appearing in Google Analytics within a day (Reports → Realtime shows them within minutes).

  3. 3

Mark purchase as a key event

In Google Analytics go to Admin → Data display → Events and switch on Mark as key event for purchase. That makes sales count as conversions in your reports. Orders paid by bank transfer, TNG or PayNow are counted when the customer places the order; online-gateway orders are counted once the payment is confirmed.

  4. 4

Add your store to Search Console as a URL-prefix property

In search.google.com/search-console click Add property and choose the URL prefix box on the right — type your full store address, for example https://yourstore.tokoo.my. Do not use the Domain box on the left: it can only be verified with a DNS record on the domain itself, and a store address ending in .tokoo.my belongs to Tokoo, so you cannot add DNS records to it.

  5. 5

Verify with the HTML tag and paste the line it shows

Search Console offers several methods — open Other verification methods and pick HTML tag. It shows <meta name="google-site-verification" content="abc123...">. Copy that whole line, paste it into Search Console verification code in Tokoo (Tokoo keeps just the code inside content="…" for you), click Save SEO settings, then go back to Search Console and press Verify. The long code shown under the DNS record method is a different code and will not work here.

  6. 6

    Submit your sitemap

In Search Console open Sitemaps and enter sitemap.xml (your store's sitemap is at https://yourstore.tokoo.my/sitemap.xml). Google then discovers your products on its own.

If you use your own domain (for example yourshop.com) you can add it as a Domain property and verify it with a DNS record at the place you bought the domain — but the HTML tag method above works for custom domains too and needs no DNS access.

A brand-new store is kept out of search results for its first few days (a spam check applied to every store), so Search Console may show no data at first. Google Analytics is not affected.
